Route Highlights:

1. Gergeri Village & Rouvas Gorge:
   • Start at our pick-up point in Matala at 9am.
   • Drive through the village of Gergeri to the plateau.
   • Begin your hike down the scenic Rouvas Gorge with our experienced hiking guide.
   • Explore the peaceful Forest of Rouvas.
   • Descend the 5km gorge, experiencing the unique ecosystem with rich flora and fauna.
2. Wooden Bridges & Wildlife:
   • Walk over wooden bridges, down steep, stone stairways, and rocks.
   • Spot birds such as Griffin vultures and hawks.
   • Pass by streams of the ‘best water in the world.’
3. Lake of Zaros:
   • Reach the beautiful artificial Lake of Zaros.
   • Enjoy a well-earned lunch at the tavern by the lake with fresh trout, vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes available.
   • Take a scenic stroll around the lake and see turtles, fish, geese, and ducks.
4. Agios Efthimios Cave Church:
   • Continue our jeep safari up the mountain to the spectacular cave church.
   • Enjoy panoramic views of the gorge and take amazing photos.
5. Faneromeni Lake & Dam:
   • Visit the Faneromeni artificial lake and dam.
   • See the area covering approximately 1000 acres with a capacity of 20 million square meters of water from Mount Psiloritis.
6. Agia Marina Donkey Rescue:
   • Visit the donkeys at the Agia Marina Donkey Rescue.
   • Brush, pat, or just look at the friendly donkeys rescued from abandonment and abuse.
